Paul Grey, hair stylist and ceo of Paul Brown Hi Hair Care opened his first Honolulu beauty salon in1971. Today, he owns six salons and day spas all over the Hawaiian Islands. In 1989, he founded his successful international hair maintenance systems company under his personally own name.
Browns industry experience blended with his love for Hawaii enabled him for making multicultural shampoos, conditioners along with products using natural Traditional plants and sea essences. He's also developed many pro techniques and products well known and used worldwide. Brown is mixed up in professional beauty industry and it's currently the Vice President for the International Salon Spa Internet business Network (ISBN). He journeys extensively, giving demonstrations together with explaining his distinctive head of hair design techniques throughout China, Italy, the United Empire, Canada, Belgium, Egypt, Guam, Down under, the Netherlands, Iceland and also Germany.

- What will be inspiration behind your set and what made one launch it?
I have already been a hairdresser since I was 12 yr old and at 19 I was deliver to Hawaii by a business that owned 6 salons and then a department store as an art and craft director. I noticed that there is not one product through Hawaii (I am first from San Francisco) back then that accommodated all wild hair types. So I started to think it would smart to design a line that will accommodate Asian hair, Black hair, Caucasian hair not to mention all hair types.
We are still small businesses but I have invested in on some partners and bigger players to this helped us grow. MY SPOUSE AND I still own 6 salons / classrooms in Hawaii. The salon business continues my love and THAT I cut hair 4 days each week. I love cutting frizzy hair because its who Now i'm and when I am travelling I must say i miss it.
- What are the best hairstyles and which hair type to you wish to work with?
I for a challenge, so I just like the something that is different if not more difficult. There isnt really almost any hair that I prefer in the other, I just like making the litigant happy. What I do is I seek the advice of the client, find out where did they feel about themselves, type of lifestyle they have not to mention how much time may be spend on their mane, and then design something which works for their existence.
- Can you thought about some current general trends?
I think things have a tendency towards being edgier yet again and I think let us see some bright, brilliant colors. At the moment things are really plain and very effortless and healthy but It is my opinion that bright red which can be coming back. I just went back from Korea 3 several weeks ago, and it has become the fashion capital in the world. They wear edgy things; people are experimenting more it's going to come to the most important stage.
- Is there an important trend going on during Hawaii?
Hawaii is often a lifestyle choice and in this particular salons we do attractive, healthy hair. In Hawaii everyone is not as fashion conscious- that they swim and surf and the more about a healthier lifestyle.
- Can anyone walk us through ones own product range?
We get shampoos for frizzy, tresses that enhance curl and also keep it straight. There is chemical products. We dont have color selection but we have plenty of shine products. Shine is critical.
The real uniqueness of our own line is that people are the first to currently have Kukui Nut Oil. Kukui nut oil is scientifically proven undertake a small enough molecule in order to penetrate into the hair thus a difference. It strengthens the tresses and gives it a whole lot of shine and elasticity. We are the first in the field to use this ingredient so few other companies have the idea.
- What is best part of being the hairstylist?
I have to share with you the best section of being anything is passion and if you suffer from passion about what you are doing you will be successful. I think anyone will be successful if they can be passionate. The most important things for me is i love what I do and I will be happy with what I actually do. I cant imagine accomplishing anything I didnt benefit from. I think everyone should consider a niche. Even if they arent going to make big money because it doesnt really allow you to be happy. Of course, if you have had money it helps but it surely doesnt make you cheerful.
